KP2-VA

The KP2-VA is an advanced, intelligent, self-recovering over/under-voltage protector designed specifically for single-phase AC power grids (AC 220V, 50/60Hz). It monitors line voltage and current, providing automatic and adjustable circuit protection and recovery functions in the event of anomalies.

Description

Product Overview

The KP2-VA is a high-performance, full-featured self-reclosing over/under-voltage and over-current protector designed to provide comprehensive, intelligent protection for single-phase AC power distribution systems. Its core design philosophy centers on the real-time, precise monitoring of electrical parameters combined with user-configurable multi-level protection strategies. By automatically disconnecting circuits during abnormal conditions—and automatically re-establishing power supply once the grid returns to normal—it effectively prevents damage to downstream electrical equipment caused by grid voltage fluctuations (whether excessively high or low) or line over-currents.

Main Features

1. Comprehensive Electrical Protection:
Over-voltage Protection: Activates when the line voltage exceeds the user-defined threshold (adjustable range: 230V–300V; factory default: 270V). Features a rapid response time with an adjustable action delay (0.1–30 seconds).
Under-voltage Protection: Activates when the line voltage drops below the user-defined threshold (adjustable range: 210V–140V; factory default: 170V). Features a rapid response time with an adjustable action delay (0.1–30 seconds).
Over-current Protection: Provides precise over-current protection. The protection current threshold can be flexibly set between 1A and 63A (subject to the specific product label rating, adjustable in 0.1A increments). It also supports the configuration of a "Continuous Over-current Trip Count" (adjustable from 1 to 20 trips, or disabled), making it particularly suitable for protecting motor-based loads against nuisance tripping caused by transient inrush currents during startup.

2. Highly Intelligent and User-Customizable:
Flexible Parameter Configuration: Users can utilize the buttons on the device's front panel to independently configure various parameters, including over/under-voltage protection thresholds, recovery thresholds, recovery delay times (1–500 seconds), protection action delay times, and over-current recovery delay times (1–500 seconds). This allows users to optimize the device's configuration based on local grid quality conditions and the specific characteristics of their connected loads.
Self-Calibration Function: Features built-in voltage and current calibration capabilities (adjustment range: -9.5% to +9.5%) to ensure long-term stability and accuracy in measurements. Voltage measurement accuracy is maintained within ±2% of the full-scale range.

3. Intuitive Display and Convenient Operation:

Equipped with dual digital display windows for voltage and current, allowing for real-time monitoring of line status.
Users can cycle through the function menu using the "Set" button on the front panel, quickly adjust parameters using the "Increase" and "Decrease" buttons, and save settings by long-pressing the "Set" button; the operational logic is clear and straightforward.

4. High Reliability and Environmental Adaptability:
Excellent Performance Metrics: Features an electrical life of up to 10⁵ cycles and a mechanical life of up to 10⁶ cycles. Capable of stable operation across a wide temperature range of -50°C to 55°C.
Wide Operating Range: Rated operating voltage of AC 220V (50/60Hz), with a wide monitoring voltage range spanning AC 80V to 400V (single-phase). Features an IP20 protection rating and Pollution Degree 3 classification, making it suitable for use in environments at altitudes of up to 2000 meters.

Application Scenarios

Thanks to its comprehensive protection features and stable, reliable performance, the KP2-VA is suitable for a wide range of residential, commercial, and light industrial settings where high power quality is required or grid conditions are complex:

  • Main Distribution Boards (DBs) in Residential Homes
  • Retail Shops and Small Commercial Premises
  • Front-end Protection for Voltage-Sensitive Equipment
  • Areas with Frequent Grid Fluctuations or Poor Power Quality
  • Protection for Critical Branch Circuits
